This casual shawlette is just what you need for summer evenings outdoors when the temperature drops, or breezy days on the beach when you want a little extra layer around your neck.

It’s knit with Rowan Summerspun yarn in Greenwich - a mix of pretty turquoises & blues in a wool cotton mix DK weight yarn - but you could use an alternative dk (light worsted) yarn, just remember to adjust quantity of yarn as needed.

The main section is knit in garter stitch, worked in short rows to make a gentle crescent shape, and the simple diagonal rib and scallop lace edging is joined to the main section as it is being knitted. If you’ve not ventured into lace knitting or short row shaping before, this is a great project for developing these skills.
