This design is inspired by the book “Sea Lord”, written by Bernard Cornwell.
“… John Rossendale, Earl of Stowey, lives on his sailboat Sunflower, and has spent the last four years on
the seas, away from the family he despises. But now he must sail to Devon, where his mother lies dying, and he is embroiled in a search for the Van Gogh’s “Girasoli” (Sunflowers) painting, stolen years ago (John was a suspect).”

The shawl is worked top down, and it does have a more-than-half-circle shape, for a better fit on shoulders.

On download page there are two files: a pdf with the pattern for the Basic size (featured on first picture), and another pdf for a Larger version; the Larger version does have two additional petals of the sunflower.

This pattern does have charts and line by line directions.
