I have tried to capture the essence of sea oats in a tiny cabled texture stitch by the same name. The stitch pattern at the beginning and end is a ridged eyelet border reminiscent of the fencing you find to remind you to stay off the dunes. The stitch patterns are easy to remember, yet keep you interested as the delicate sea oats emerge.

This cowl is the right size to use as a layering piece during the cool weather of spring or fall, as well as a barrier to the frigid air conditioning that you may find blowing on your neck in some buildings during the heat of summer. Your hands created this little piece of warmth and remind of your time at the beach.

The wind sings through the sea oats creating its own serenade, especially when it’s quiet. The song is soft and sweet, as the grasses dance to its tune. If you concentrate, you may hear it no matter where you are.
