Garter-rib fingerless mittens with a thumb gusset.

These were designed to use a single skein of Mini Mochi yarn, a fingering-weight single-ply yarn with a long variegation, but pretty much any fingering or sock weight yarn will do. A pair takes about 2/3 to 3/4 of a 50-gram skein of fingering-weight yarn.

The mitts stretch to fit a wide range of hand sizes. They can be worked in a thicker yarn to make looser mitts or mitts for larger hands.

The garter-rib pattern looks good (though different!) on both the front and reverse sides. If the ends are hidden carefully, either side can be worn as the right side out.

Exact gauge is not important, especially the rounds/inch gauge.
