The seahorse scarf is a very wearable addition to your wardrobe. It is slightly inspired by the late eighties trends being referred to by designers this season - it’s a triangular scarf with bobbles - just a little bit hipster, but not too much.

As an artisan knitted item you’ll need to be quite an experienced knitter to create this. It’s best made for yourself or a fellow knitter who will appreciate your time and skill.

I use lace leaf stitch a lot - such as in the Sunflower Head Beanie, however I really prefer reversible patterns for scarves as I like them to flip about and always show their best - therefore I took inspiration from lace leaf stitch and created a reversible version - South Bohemian Lace Leaf.

The scarf is created using only a single skein of 100 grams or 3.5 oz of Manos silk blend Merino. You may need a little more yarn in case your tension is not so tight or the yarn is thicker.

My preference would be to teach you how to make South Bohemian Lace Leaf in person. Once you learn the way the stitches fit snugly together, then you’ll always know what comes next. If you’re unable to visit me in South Bohemia, the written pattern is the next best thing I can offer.

(I’m about to start a knitting trial of this pattern, please contact me if you’d like to take part).
