Sealine is the product of me wanting a vintage 1930s-ish beach top. The button-opening is purely for decoration, and not function, as the top is worked in the round.

Then the two fronts are worked flat, and the contrast band is worked all in one go from the button band, around the right front, across the back, and around the left front. Finally, the straps are worked in the round, and you can choose between straight straps or straps crossed at the back. Buttons made by Remembrances Pottery.

I hope you will enjoy this pattern, and if you need any help, please do not hesitate to contact me in my Ravelry group ‘Skeindeer Knits’. It’s the best place for swift support.

Construction
This tank top is worked bottom-up, seamlessly in the round, starting with a folded hem. At the underarms, the underarm and back stitches are put on hold, and the two fronts are worked flat separately. Each front is decreased towards the strap stitches that are put on hold.

Then, you pick up for the faux buttonband and upper hem sts all in one go. This long band is worked flat along the front of body, up the right front, down to the back, up the left front and down towards the centre front. The band is then sewn to the inside of the work.

Finally work the straps in the round from the held front sts, cross at back, and graft to held back sts.
