EXPERIENCED LEVEL
Skills: Seamless Toe-Up Sock Cast-On (link to online video tutorial demonstrating several options included in pdf); Knitting and Purling in the Round; Increasing and Decreasing; Short Row Shaping; Twisted Stitches.

These booties are constructed in a way completely unlike typical socks. A seamless circular cast-on is used at the center of the sole, after which Garter stitch is worked in the round, increasing at the toe-end and heel-end until the sole is as wide and long as desired. Garter stitch is then worked even for several rounds to build height to the foot, after which the
toe shaping begins in Stockinette stitch worked flat in short rows. The cuff is then re-joined in the round and worked in a modified 1x1 Rib. Optional ruffles for the girls version are worked at the end of the cuff.

Row counter recommended.
