For a touch of luxury, it is difficult to beat silk next to the skin. Our Seamstress Silk Socks do one better by blending fine silk with alpaca and linen, improving on its sheen and elegance with a delicate halo and a bit of strength. The simple lace cuff sets the feminine tone of these little luxuries, while columns of purl stitches form faux seams that feel just a touch naughty.

Construction: The Seamstress Silk Socks are worked in the round from the cuff down with a heel flap.

Yarn and Yardage: 1(1, 2) skeins Why Knot Fibers’ Seduction DK, a hand-dyed blend of silk, alpaca, and linen, or approximately 180(230, 280) yards of light DK weight yarn.

Yarn Substitution: Seduction DK is thinner and has much more drape than most DK weight yarns, and in contrast with wool, its fibers have no bounce. If you’re planning to substitute a different yarn, look for one with these characteristics or consider a fingering-weight yarn instead of a DK. Our testers had lovely results with, for example, a sport-weight alpaca blend and a fingering-weight wool blend.

Sizes: 6.5(7.75, 8) inches around, 8(9.25, 10.5) inches long from heel to toe, and 5.5(6, 6.5) inches long at the cuff.

To Fit: 7-8(8-9, 9-10) inches around and 8(9.75, 11) inches long at the foot.

Instructions: The pattern includes fully written-out instructions.

Thanks: To every tiny dancer.
