Seascale is worked in the round from the bottom up. Once the body is worked, stitches are picked up around the armholes and the arms are worked down to the cuff. When working the Seascale Chart on both front and back, work the chart over the stitches in between the markers. When working the fronts, the chart begins before armhole shaping ends; read the Front section all the way through before proceeding.

YARN: The Fibre Co.Cumbria (90% wool, 10% mohair); 238 yds/100 gm skein): derwent water (48), 5 (5, 6, 7, 8) skeins.
GAUGE: 20 sts + 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st on larger needles, after blocking. 19 sts + 34 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Gansey pattern on larger needles, after blocking.
NEEDLES: 1 - US 5 (3.75 mm) 16” (40 cm) and 24” (60 cm) circular and set dpns. 1 - US 3 (3.25 mm) 16” (40 cm) and 24” (60 cm) circular and set dpns, or size to obtain gauge.
NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, stitch holders, stitch markers.
