This 18 by 18 inch pillow pattern gives you the opportunity to use several color knitting techniques; work with “floating chains” that ride between the stitches, and work with three different types of yarn. You will be blending yarn colors, making bobbles, and never be bored.

The pattern requires at least one skein of each color, although many of the colors do not require much yardage. You might even opt for using some strands from your stash.

The free floating chains that overlay the border of Palette fingering yarn are made with Gloss Lace weight from Knit PIcks. One hank (black) is sufficient for the top, and back, if you decide to knit it instead of using fabric.

The chicks are done with a mix of Aloft Mohair and a single ply of the fingering yarn indicated in the pattern notes.

The PDF pattern comes with chart, written and illustrated instructions. I have also included a complete tutorial on how to work with“ Floating Chains.”
