A couple months ago I stumbled across a photo of a celebrity wearing a very chic slouchy hat, and I thought to myself, “I can make that!”

I used one skein of Cascade 128 super wash for the hat. If I had more than one ball I might have counted on more than 72 sts and kept knitting the 2 by 2 rib for a few more rows. If you have plenty of yarn, you could try counting on a few more stitches (use multiples of four, like 76 or 80) for an even bigger, slouchier hat.

I used a US 9 needle for the seed stitch part because I wanted it to be very structured and warm, then I moved up to a US 10 needle for the ribbing so that it would be a little more slouchy. You could knit this whole thing with a US 10 needle though and it probably wouldn’t make a difference. Finally, I used magic loop for this hat, so if you have long enough circular needles you can just do that and disregard the suggested needles in the pattern.

So… here is the pattern incase you want to make your very own slouchy hat! Please let me know if you find any mistakes, or anything that doesn’t make sense!
