This is simply gorgeous in handspun from handpainted tops and it really accentuates multi-colors, but sometimes you might have more or less handspun than is called for - since this pattern is knit top down, if you are short its not too much of a problem, if you have extra, you can just make it taller.

Some of my photos show handspun examples that have different numbers of segments to allow for the quantity of yarn available at the time. These handspun requirements can vary somewhat due to fiber content and spinning styles.

If you are using the commercial suggestion of Marble Chunky, it is a 200 gram skein so you can get several cowls out of one skein or have lots left over for another project.
