The CAL is divided into 17 parts, they will be released weekly.

The pattern will be available in 13 languages: Afrikaans, Danish, Dutch, English UK terms, English US terms, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish, Urdu.

It is a challenging pattern, with lots of special figures and stitches and quite a lot of different techniques applied: from Irish crochet to Overlay Mosaic to Interlocking – there are even a few plain rounds included.
It requires concentration and accurate reading of the descriptions. However, the descriptions are very detailed, with lots of pictures so that an advanced beginner will be able to crochet it and an advanced crocheter won’t get bored.

Wonderful Tania Leis makes a video for every part as support. There will also be videos available for left-handed people.

With Fingering yarn and hook size 3mm, my square blanket became 125 x 125 cm.
Some of our Haaksteek Team testers are making Seeking Balance with thicker yarn and a bigger size hook and their blanket will end up being much, much bigger. As soon as they have finished their blankets, I will tell you the size of their Seeking Balance.

My Haaksteek team and I have worked on this blanket for many, many months. I would be nothing without the help of my wonderful Haaksteek sisters, who worked so hard and put their time, energy, yarn, money and love into this project to make it to its best for all of you.

The difficult times in my life, when I was struggling to not break down, were the inspiration for this blanket.
Crocheting, using a simple hook, in combination with the feeling of soft, colorful yarn between my fingers, creating something beautiful, is so soothing. I was able to weave in my difficult memories and yet feel comforted by what was arising from my hands.

I hope you’ll feel as much happiness by weaving in your own sad memories and turning them into peaceful memorials, by making your own Seeking Balance.
