This shawl was born of the blistering sun that is ever present in our Florida summers. The colors so greatly reminded me of the sun that I wanted to try to catch some of its rays in the lace. The pattern starts with simple stockinette and then gradually the lace starts to multiply. Although it looks difficult, all of the lace patterns are simple one or two row repeats that are easily memorizable.

This design works well with hand dyed fingering weight yarn, and depending on gauge and yardage, can be knit with only one skein of sock yarn.

Pattern is given in a written format due to the simplicity of the one or two row lace patterning. Pattern has been tested and tech edited.

Gauge is not important, but is given in pattern for yardage purposes.
