This is one of those precious simple patterns that looks incredibly artistic when done. The magical creative part is at the beginning when you choose the yarns (if you can’t find the stated bulky weight Superwash Merino, try combining some or all of the yarns below). Mixing texture and color gives the very richest effect. After that, all is straightforward: the instructions are almost the easiest anywhere, and yet the effect is sophisticated beyond belief.

Materials: : 5 solid colors of bulky weight yarn used alternately: A B C D E -- 50 gram 7 balls of each. 50 grams equals about 109 yards.

Needles: 2-- 29” or 1-- 60” circular size 10 needle If you are using the 29” needles, put a point protector on the one end of each so that stitches will not slip off as you are knitting.
Gauge: 3 sts/ inch on size 10 needles
