The Sequel Sweater, the follow up pattern to the Short Stories Cardigan, is an everyday wearable crochet jumper. made with a simple stitch pattern, full of texture and drape. It includes short row set-in sleeves which create a tailored feel and has a soft, open, round neckline with ribbed cuffs and hem.

Skills Used
The majority of the pattern is worked using the extended single crochet stitch (instructions and link to tutorial included). I have classed it as intermediate because the pattern includes some uncommon construction and shaping techniques to create the short row set-in sleeves.

You will be working in rows and rounds, increases, decreases, shaping, blocking, seaming, short rows, and rib stitches.
The pattern includes complete written instructions, schematics, a photo guide for the construction and links to a video tutorial demonstrating the short row technique used for the sleeve cap.
Sizes 2x-5x also use foundation single crochet stitches (technique described in pattern along with a link to a written and video tutorial).

Sizing
The pattern is written in 9 sizes covering women’s standard sizes XS-5XL; to fit chest 76-158cm / 30-63in. It is intended to be worn with 7-9cm / 2.75-3.5in positive ease on the body. The design is gender neutral.
Detailed measurements, including 2 schematics are included in the pattern to assist you in choosing the most suitable size.

Materials
I recommend a 4mm crochet hook for the body with a 3mm hook for the ribbed sections (or size needed to achieve correct tension).
You will need 1250(1470, 1610, 1760, 19440, 2100, 2370, 2510, 2650) metres of 4ply / fingering weight yarn.
The item pictured uses approximately 8(9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 15, 16) balls of Drops Nord, (45% Alpaca, 30% Polyamide, 25% Wool. 50g ball = 170m/186yds) in shade 16; Jeans Blue. It also used around 20-25g of Shade 08; fog, for the contrast coloured stripes. (The meterage given includes an allowance for the stripes).

You will also need 4 stitch markers blocking board and pins as well as a tapestry needle, tape measure and scissors.
