I have not specified a tension/gauge for this sock pattern because sock knitters all have a favourite needle size and cast on stitch Count that suits. They also adjust through foot length and leg length to suit their personal preferences. This makes my personal gauge irrelevant because you should add or omit pattern repeats as you need to get the size you wish.

Any good quality sock yarn will work well. I haven’t tried knitting them in anything other than a 75% wool 25% nylon mix.
