This year I want to knit a personal pattern in the SKA-challenge every month.
This one is dedicated to Janneke Maat because she made me love knitting travelling stitches with her patterns. I also use her handdyed yarn in the color of the month. The C in the pattern name stands for chartreuse.

The pattern originated as an idea when I saw a WW-II jumper in an old book called Complete Home Knitting Illustrated. I could not understand the stitch used so I turned to “Sokkenboontje”, a very old Dutch stitch almost every Dutch woman knows.

19th September 2012: Uploaded a new English version as I found out that the classic koffieboontjes-stitch is not as known outside the Netherlands as I thougth it would be. So I altered my desription of the pattern in a way non-Dutch knitters are likely to understand better what a ‘koffieboontje’ is.
