Fate, Happenstance, Serendipity…

The Serendipity Heirloom baby shawl is a timeless round blanket featuring gentle waves. Serendipity is an intermediate level pattern with all stitches worked into the back loop (unless specified) to create lovely detailed texture. I don’t recommend working though both loops for this project as the texture is needed to outline the lace work.

After the launch on Monday 18th Feb 2019 Serendipity will include 3 PDF downloads.
1. The full pattern
2, A brief photo PDF with each lace row
3. A matching newborn sized bonnet

Materials required:
Hobbii Twister or Scheepjes whirl or equivalent 4ply/fingering weight yarn with 1000m.

The shawl can also be made in other yarn weights. You will need to use a hook large enough to create a good drape with your chosen yarn. Some of my testers used 8ply successfully.

Stitch markers

Wool/darning needle

Blocking board and pins

Hook size will be determined by your gauge test swatch. You want a hook size much larger than you would normally use for 4ply to create drape and prevent rippling
