head circumference: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 cm

A slouchy hat with a spiral-ornamented top and a double-layered, scalloped hem to keep your ears extra toasty in cold weather.
The hat is knit from top centre out and then down, so swatching for gauge is not necessary. It can be made with fingering weight to worsted weight; I recommend knitting to a tighter gauge than stated on the ball band.

Techniques: knitting in the round, knit, purl, yo, k2tog, p2tog, passing over of stitches, k3tog (optional),
3-needle-bind-off in Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy method (instructions included), I-cord (optional), handling
markers, a little row counting.
