I love classic sweaters, especially turtleneck pullovers and cables. These timeless pieces never really go out of style and are easily updated with yarn and color choice.
Here’s an instant classic you can wear under a jacket or cardigan, or just show off the cables.
The body is worked in one piece from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work the front and back separately. Wrap-and-turn short-rows are used to shape the shoulders, which are then joined using 3-Needle BO.
The sleeves are worked in the round from the cuff up, then after binding off at the top of the underarm, the cap is worked back and forth.
The turtleneck is meant to fit close to the neck, but can be made a little less snug by picking up a few more stitches. If you want a mock neck, instructions are included in the pattern.
