This colorful, quick, and easy cowl knits up in no time, with tweedy pops of color reminiscent of a pointillist painting. We used two colors of Noro Kagayaki, but any aran or worsted-weight, color-changing yarns would work. Try using the darker color as the main, or the lighter—the variations are endless!

This is a truly simple pattern—knitting and purling make up the complex-looking “lattice,” knit in the round. It’s called “broken seed stitch” - broken because it’s a seed stitch pattern that is “broken” by a knitted row every other row. By switching colors every row, you achieve the lattice look with very minimal effort.
