Seven small soft toys made from knitted squares – instructions for making an owl, cat, sausage-dog, bird or chicken, penguin, koala, and a snowman.
Use any yarn you like – the samples were made in 8 ply/DK yarn on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, with squares measuring 12 cms and the toys measured between 11 and 14 cms tall – a good size for a baby.
Smaller squares in thinner yarn would make Christmas tree decorations or mobiles.
However the pattern is for any size square in any yarn, so there are many possibilities.

There are detailed sewing instructions, photos and diagrams.
Designed for novice knitters who can manage simple knitting, there are photos to show how to do a kfb increase and a k2tog decrease (just in case!).
The sewing stitches used are also explained in a photo tutorial at the end of the pattern.
