Inspired by the iconic pillbox, these hats offer a welcome pop of color in shades of the Sixties. Worked from the top down in spiral rounds, the hats are quick to crochet in super bulky yarn.

This pattern contains easy-to-follow instructions to crochet the Shades of the Sixties for women and men. Unlike a true pillbox with a flat top, these hats are softer, and they have rounded crowns that shape to the head when worn.

The pattern offers four adult sizes, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, with finished circumferences of 21 (22, 23, 24) in./53 (56, 58, 61) cm at the bottom edge. This hat is designed to be the same circumference as actual head circumference.

YARN:
The Shades of the Sixties uses super-bulky (#6 weight) yarn. The sample hats are made in Bernat Blanket Brights, a polyester chenille yarn, in Carrot Orange and Pixie Pink.
