My inspiration for this shawl were the beautiful stitch patterns that have been used for traditional stranded knits in Finland.

Shawl pattern file consists of a large chart for this wide triangular shawl worked with doubleknitting from tip to tip and short notes about my test piece. Gauge is given above.

One solid and one contrast gradient yarn is suggested for the appearance. Two-color shawl can always be worked with two solid or semi-solid yarns. The beautiful traditional patterns need the two yarns to have clear contrast from each other to present the stitch patterns clearly.

The chart can be used to work a stranded shawl, but the given measurements and meterage is for doubleknitted piece.

The pattern notes does not include any basic tutorial for doubleknitting. You can check my free pattern Ristinolla for reference before purchase.
