Sock inspired by the novel Fjäderholmarna (Swedish for Feather Islands) by ZachariasTopelius.
Far out in the Gulf of Bothnia, almost midway between Sweden and Finland are some small
lush green islands, called Fjäderholmarna.
It’s so beautiful there. Far in the wild sea, where the waves go high like houses and the ships
perish on the autumn nights, you would never have thought that so healthy, happy, green
islands could invite the tired sailor to their friendly harbour.
No wind blows there, there swells no high wave, no lonely seagull raises its uniform cry over
foamy fires. Everything breathes a lovely calm.
The wind is resting, the wave is dormant, the birds are singing silently and the moonlight is
playing with golden-yellow gloss over the fragrant flowers and over the trees, which are
drinking the clear dew in the evening roll.
