This scarf highlights the changes in a color-shifting yarn with a simple intarsia pattern worked in garter stitch. It has a bold graphic look created by using the same color yarn from opposite ends of the ball. Try working the scarf with one side in a color-shifting yarn and the other in a complementary solid color for a completely different look.

NOTES
• The pattern is worked with two balls of yarn using the intarsia technique. C1 is the first ball, C2 is the second ball, started from the opposite end of the color shift. The two balls are both used on each row, and the dividing point is marked with a stitch marker. The change from one color to another is always done on the wrong side of the scarf by bringing the new color up from under the old color.
• The first stitch of each row is slipped purlwise with the yarn in front, creating a tidy chain along the sides.
• When beginning the third skein, work C1 from one end of the skein and C2 from the other end of the skein.
