In October of 2013, while out surfing, my husband Jay, was bitten by a great white shark. He was extremely lucky that the shark bit his leg and let go immediately. The whole experience was surreal for Jay and for our family. You know things are weird when Good Morning America is calling. Jay’s perspective was almost spiritual. He talked about how beautiful the shark was and what it felt like to look into it’s eyes. In October of 2014, a year after the attack, I decided that I wanted to honor the experience somehow. What better way to do that than to create something beautiful that celebrates the power and majesty of our Northern California ocean?
