Garter with lace cast off
This pattern is available in print for $7.00.

Sharon’s Shawl was originally designed as an introduction to designing and lace knitting for my beginning students. This triangular shawl is a simple garter stitch neck down garment with a picot or lace cast off edging. The gauge is unimportant (a favourite gauge is 4 stitches per inch) and the shawl can be knit in any yarn, to any length, from scarf size to floor length. Instructions for a simple picot cast off suitable for beginners and an easy lace cast off for the more adventurous are included, as are notes on choosing and knitting your own lace cast off.
The pattern photograph shows the shawl knit in Fleece Artist’s yarns (kid silk and a silk noil). Fleece Artist yarns are customer favourites for this shawl, as are lace weight alpaca yarns, silks and handspun.
This pattern is available at Golden Willow Natural Fiber or directly from the designer.
