~Color work hat pattern that walks you through the basics of how to knit my Llama hat. Pattern is easily modified to knit hats ranging from child sized to extra large, however, I do not go over how to do that in this pattern. This pattern will get you a hat that is 22 inches in circumference and 9 inches from brim to crown. It is a slouchy knit hat, designed for an adult head.

~You will need two colors of yarn, one will be the main color, the other the contrasting color. I like to use a colorful base yarn as the main color, and an off white/cream yarn for the llamas, but that is just me :)

~Need to know the basics of knitting, including, the knit stitch, purl stitch, how to increase on one stitch, how to decrease, how to knit in the round, how to switch needles when knitting in the round, and how to knit with two colors. (Also, I always recommend putting puff balls on my finished hats, but I do not go over how to do that in this pattern!) If this seems intimidating, don’t worry, all these knitting techniques can be found on youtube and all over the web. It is how I learned! :)
