Shayron’s Lace is a circular shawl or scarf made with lace-weight yarn. It is worked side to side for the denser body, and the laciest parts are worked along the outer curve when the top part is finished.

This month begins a new collaboration between Gina Lynette and Julie Blagojevich. Gina has kindly agreed to test my designs, and she began with Shayron’s Lace. She has also given the pattern a complete makeover! I think you will be very pleased with the beautiful new graphic designs in the pattern. In addition, Gina has provided crocheters with “recipe” advice. If you would like to use a heavier weight of yarn or you would like to make the shawl shorter or longer, you will find Gina’s notes on this most helpful. For those of you who want to slip a 1-page print copy in your project bag, Gina has also included a “print and go” page with all of the instructions and none of the photos. I am so excited to begin working with someone so talented!

After blocking, the shawl is 65 in. (165.1 cm) along the inner curve and 10 in. (25.4 cm) wide.

The following stitches were used: chain, double crochet, double crochet two together, double crochet three together, double treble crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch, and treble crochet.

The pattern pdf includes 14 photos of the design as it develops as well as several photos of the completed shawl.

Shayron’s Lace is named for my friend, Shayron, an excellent knitter and instructor, who taught me to knit not so very long ago.
