Well the kids are all hopped up and ready to go
They’re ready to go now
They got their surfboards and they’re going to the Discotheque A‐Go‐Go
But she just couldn’t stay
She had to break away
Well New York City really has it all
Oh yeah oh yeah
Sheena is a punk rocker
Sheena is a punk rocker
Sheena is a punk rocker now
Well she’s a punk punk a punk rocker
Punk punk a punk rocker

‐‐The Ramones, Sheena is a Punk Rocker

Good music, especially good punk rock, will let the mind escape. Just as the Ramones’ Sheena
escapes to New York City to follow her dreams, an intriguing shawl pattern will help you escape the
banality of your everyday life. I hope this pattern can do that for you. The stripes and plaid of this
shawl remind me of the styles of the punk movement. Choose colors with a high contrast for a similar
look. Alternatively, you may select colors that are similar in value for a more muted, soft plaid look.
Any fingering weight yarn will do. This pattern uses slipped stitches to create a woven look and plaid
pattern. The border is patterned on both sides of the work. It is suitable for an intermediate knitter.

This pattern has been test knit by multiple knitters, and tech edited by Katherine Vaughn.
