This PDF crochet pattern will guide you to crochet a tea cosy with a super cute sheep on top, as shown in pictures, perfect for your breakfast or lunch table!
The tea cosy will be made using DK/8 ply acrylic yarn and crochet hook D (3 mm).
Wool or cotton yarn will be suitable too for this pattern, as long as you can meet gauge. The tea cosy in the pictures was made using Stylecraft Special DK (100 gr / 322 yds / 294 m).

There will be an opening under the handle to cover your teapot easily, with a snap button closure (press stud). The sheep is sewn around the top of the cosy, and will cover the knob of the teapot nicely.
Finished size will be approx. 8.3” (21 cm) tall including the sheep, circumference 16.5” (42 cm).

The pattern is suitable for any standard model teapot, 1.1 liter, circumference approx. 15.75” (40 cm), measured around the widest part of the pot, excl. the spout and handle.
The base part of this tea cosy is worked in rows, while all sheep parts are worked in continuous rounds.

Skill Level: Intermediate.

Approx. Gauge: Before you start, you may need to check your gauge. This is important for fitting the cover over your teapot. 5 sc = 1” (2.5 cm)

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increasing, decreasing, bead stitch, 5 double crochet bobble stitch.

• Crochet hook size E (3.5 mm), standard size teapot, 1,1 liter
• DK yarn in white (approx. 45 gr, 145 yds, 130 m), taupe (approx. 35 gr, 113 yds, 103 m) small amounts of soft pink, green, brown
• Fiberfill stuffing, stitch marker, tapestry needle, pins, scissors
• 1 sewing snap button (press stud), diameter approx. 0.06” (14 mm), or Velcro
• White sewing thread, black embroidery floss, 1 pair 6 mm safety eyes
