This intermediate pattern uses sport weight and heavy weight wool and size 1(for the back sail) and 10 ½ (for all other pieces)circular needles, a medium crochet hook. The pattern is completed using stockinette stitch, short rows, Intarsia and I-cord stitch.

A few simple crochet patterns are used to add finishing touches. Shelby’s body is made with heavy weight wool- 90 yards of green wool(main color), 75 yards of medium brown, 20 yards of pink wool, 1 yard of black wool for eyes. (1 yard of single strand light weight white wool yarn is used to form Shelby’s teeth).

The back sail is made with approximately 30 yards each of sport weight wool (I use a coarse wool like churro to help the sail stand up) in medium brown, coral pink, orange, and yellow.

Feel free to work in whatever colors you like. There are few registered Spinosaurus breeders around to argue conformation.
