Depending on where you live, winter can be icy cold or just a little chillier than usual. Named after the Hebrew word for winter’s signature precipitation, these reversible oversized fingerless mitts & collar are designed to fit over your coat & sleeves to seal in the warmth when you brave those winter days. The optional I-Cord ribbon adds that finishing touch whether tied in a bow or braided.

Despite its more complicated appearance, if you can knit a 1x1 rib, you can knit this set. The Fisherman’s Rib creates a bubble-like appearance that, when knit in a super bulky yarn, is squishy and pillow-like. As with a mosaic or slip-stitch pattern, you’ll use only one color at a time, knitting one color in the row below on the first round and purling the other color in the row below on the next. This creates a reversible fabric with hills and valleys.

When knitting in the row below, insert the needle into the knit loop below the current row; in other words, into the knit stitch done in the main color below that done in the contrasting color. When purling in the row below, insert the needle into the purl loop below the current row; in other words, into the purl stitch in the contrasting color below that done in the knit color.
