This is a luxurious clutch bag, designed for special occasions. The yarn I used is durable enough for accessories, but has a beautiful sheen, thanks to the silk content. If you have a copy of my book “200 More Crochet Stitches”, you’ll find a chart and helpful step by step photos for the Embossed Shells stitch on page 34. The lining requires some basic sewing skills. The original pattern for this bag appeared in Issue 107 of Inside Crochet Magazine.

YARN: Eden Cottage Yarns Milburn DK (85% Blue Faced Leicester, 15% Silk), 50g/112m/122yd
Yarn A Harvest Gold (1 ball)
Yarn B Night Sky (1 ball)
Yarn C Estuary (1 ball)

TENSION: 15 stitches and 22 rows = 10cm worked in dc with 4mm crochet hook

HOOKS AND NOTIONS: 4mm crochet hook. Metal purse frame (either sew in or glue in frame as preferred) 21cm width
Glue or matching needle and cotton to attach frame, 1/2m of lining fabric
