The Shell-Stitch Clutch is a functional purse with a handle that makes it easy to carry. It works up quickly using super bulky yarn and a 6 mm crochet hook with shell stitches. There is some basic construction required.

To create this piece, we tried it out in two different super bulky yarns from Michael’s, Loops and Threads’ Select Wool in light grey, and Loops and Threads’ Cozy Wool in Granite and in Thunder (turquoise). You may want to line the purse and add a zipper to finish it off, or simply add decorative buttons as pictured.

We’ve used this accessory to carry a wallet and phone, as a makeup bag, and to store crochet hooks and thread. It’s easy to make and construct and would be a great gift idea. Colour and button combinations are up to you, but we especially like the look of the light grey yarn and the silver buttons from Fabricland.
