This tam pattern features an interesting design based upon the delicately beautiful wild flower, Shepherd’s Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris).

This pattern is part of Weeds, a collection of five tam patterns based on the theme of common garden weeds.

Instructions are given for three sizes, to fit teen, adult or large adult; the different sizes are achieved by varying the ribbing; the hat, being a tam, is roomy and warm.

It is knit in the round, using two colours of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift 4ply yarn, and utilises stranded techniques.
