Construction: Sherwood is an all-over cabled cowl knit in the round with fingering weight wool. This is a companion pattern to the Sherwood Hat. The Sherwood Cowl is a lightweight knit, perfect for mid-season weather.

Skill level: Intermediate
Skills needed: Knitting in the round, twisting stitches, basic cables

Size: Adult/ One Size

Circumference: 26” (66 cm)
Height: 14” (36 cm)

Gauge: 32 sts by 40 rows in body of cowl pattern, knit in the round on larger needles
OR 18 sts and 22 rows per 4” in stockinette stitch knit flat on larger needles

Materials:

  • US 5 (3.75 mm) 24” (60 cm) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 600 yards fingering weight wool or wool blend. Shown in: Neighborhood Fiber Co.’s Rustic Fingering (Charles Center - light gray), 2 skein (475 yards), 100% merino
