Shifting Colors features Lisa’s Elegant I-Cord Edge (EIE); by maneuvering the MC and CC yarns, the strand of yarn not in use is carried-up and hidden inside the i-cord edge. The cowl is worked flat (CO edge to BO edge) and worked with stripes/color work and texture details, then seamed with mattress stitch to create an infinity loop that can be worn single or doubled.

This design is worked using yarn with a long coloway for both the MC and the CC; it also works well with a solid yarn for MC and a long colorway for the CC.

This pattern was originally published as a teaching tool and pattern for students in my Elegant I-Cord Edge Technique Class and has been through a preliminary review with my technical editor. It has been used by numerous students as the design we knit and pattern we use during those classes.
