Soft and warm, this shawl is worked in 1-ply (lace-weight) Snaeldan yarn, 100% Faroese wool, at a tension of 24 sts to 10 cm in garter stitch, and knits up surprisingly fast for lace-weight.

A simple 20-row garter stitch lace pattern gives rows of eyelets across the shawl.

The shawl is worked sideways, starting at one wing-tip, giving a finished shawl with a wing-span of approx. 220 cm (using 170g Snaeldan 1-ply).

The size is easily modified, and brief instructions on how to work smaller shawls are given (approx. wing-span 170 cm using 100g / approx. wing-span 205 cm using 150g Snaeldan yarn).

Snaeldan yarn is available from Midwinter Yarns (website: http://03c39e.38.ekmpowershop.net/).
