I live in an older section of town, where most of the houses were built between 1900-1930. My dog and I often go for walks around the neighborhood; he watches for squirrels and other critters while I check out the houses. A good number of the houses have real slate roofs, which is what inspired this cowl.

This cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up using 294 yds each of 2 colors of yarn.

Note: Gauge is EXTREMELY important with this pattern. It’s really easy when knitting with 2 yarns to pull stitches tighter together, which will result in a child size cowl. Check your gauge, and if need be switch to larger needles.
