“Shirley” is a fulled (“felted”) bag that uses eight colors of Cascade 220, a 100% Peruvian Highland Wool yarn that fulls beautifully. The color patterning is done using mosaic slip stitch patterns (as they were first called by Barbara Walker). This is a very simple yet very effective method of doing color work that requires that you work with only one color per row, making this a great first project for anyone who can knit in the round! Also, due to the fact that slip stitch knitting creates a slightly thicker fabric than plain stockinette, this bag requires no lining! How much easier could it get? A tutorial on mosaic knitting is included with the pattern.
