This shawl is perfect worn as a small shawl over your shoulders or draped around your neck. Knit side to side with a springy garter body and a simple border, the border reminds me of a school of fish following one another along the edge of a shoal.

This shawl is incredibly flexible. Many weights of yarn have been used, and there is a beading option. From a beginner lace project to a variegate stash-buster, it’s fun for everyone!

Any weight yarn may be used for this project. You should choose a needle that gives you the fabric drape you desire. Yardage requirements will change if you change the yarn weight and needle size.

Finished size: 62” (157 cm) wide x 12” (30 cm) deep (This shawl grows significantly during blocking.)

Gauge: 23 sts = 4” in garter st before blocking, 18 sts = 4” in garter st after blocking
