Sierra is a bunny with lots of love, including hearts for feet and hearts on her hands.

Any yarn weight is okay. You will want to use a smaller hook than normal for the yarn, to get a tight fabric. The original model uses bulky weight yarn (less than 90 yards of the main color, less than 15 yards contrast) with an I/5.5mm hook and is approx. 8” seated not including poseable ears, 15” at maximum extension. Size of bunny and yardage requirements will vary based on yarn/gauge.

The pattern is fully written, plus supplementary charts and some photos. It uses US terminology; if there is enough interest I can provide a UK version in addition.

Materials needed:

  • Yarn in two (or more) colors.
  • Hook. Size depends on chosen yarn.
  • Two eyes of desired type (e.g. safety eyes, buttons, or felt circles)
  • Polyfill or other stuffing material
  • Yarn needle, for weaving ends and for attaching ears/tail
  • Sewing needle and thread if needed for eyes
  • Two pipe cleaners (optional) for poseable ears

Techniques/stitches used:

  • Standard crochet stitches (slipstitch, sc, hdc, dc)
  • Working in the round in a spiral
  • Increases and decreases
  • Minimal sewing (attaching tail and ears)
  • Basic embroidery for face and eyes
