Sigurd is a hat featuring a braided cable reminiscent of an old Norse rune. Its name is from the Saga of the Volsungs, an Icelandic saga. Its companions, Brynhild and Aslaug, are the matching cowl and fingerless mitts.

Finished Size: 18” around unstretched, 23.5” stretched, 8.75” tall

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Valkyrie, 100% Superwash Merino, 200 yards/4 oz (Sample knit in Nymeria). Sample used 100 yards.

Needles: Set of 5 double-pointed needles or 16” circular needles, size 6 US (4.00 mm), or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 19 stitches/26 rows per 4” in blocked stockinette, knit in the round.
