Sildra features several characteristics of what most people think of as a Selbu mitten nowadays: the striped cuff, the two stacked ‘Selbu roses’ and the diamon grid in the palm, to name a few. The mittens work up quickly, and the pattern gives you row-by-row instructions that make these a suitable introductory mitten design.

Yarn
Daughter of a Shepherd Ram Jam (100% Yorkshire wool, 115 m / 126 yds, 50 g), or any other DK weight non-superwash yarn. See alternatives here.

50 g of 0 Natural Cream (main colour)
50 g of 3 Natural Black (contrast colour)

Needles
Gauge-size needles and 0.5 mm below gauge-size needles for working small circumferences in the round.
The sample was made using 4 mm (US 6) and 3.5 mm (US 4) mm needles.
