Silk Halo Shawl Knitalong
Errata for ebooks downloaded prior to June 9, 2014:
Part 3 Large Version:
Row 17: ssk, (yo, ssk) x 6, sssk, yo, k8, cdd, k8, yo, k1.
This knitalong will begin on May 1 and you can join anytime until May 31, but there is no deadline for completion. It is open to anyone who uses Artyarns yarn. The shawl is knitted sideways in one piece and uses short rows (no wraps) to curve slightly. The lace pattern is simple (yo, ssk, k2tog, cdd, and the payoff is high, since the pattern forms after the first few rows.
There are some short rows that require turning in the middle of a row and leaving stitches behind, but these are easy since there are no wraps required.
The yarn I use is Silk Halo, a wonderful new fingering weight mohair/silk single-ply yarn, that takes to the dye in an intense way, I used just one skein. You can use other Artyarns yarns, and I’m curious to see how they will work.
You can choose to make the small or large version. You will get instructions for both. You’ll need 2 skeins of Silk Halo for the large.
In order to participate, hit “cast on” then upload a photo of the Artyarns yarn you plan to use for the project. This cannot be a photo from the internet, but a photo of your particular yarn in your possession. If you need help in doing this, check out this post which explains how our knitalongs work: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/artyarns-knitalongs-and-patterns/2429631/1-25#5 On or about May 1, I will send you Part 1. When you have posted a photo of Part 1 completed, I will send you Part 2, and so on.
