This design is a great substitute for a standard cable. I works best with a 6 stitch count. Its easy to do. The actual cable is a 8 row repeat. Once you get the hang of it, it goes quickly and has a very unusual design that gets a lot of looks. it looks like a complete circle hense the name Silver Dollar.
It works for Headbands, Band around the bottom of a hat, sweater or shell. A design that goes up the front of a sweater or sleeves. In a sweater type of work, put at least one purl on either side of design to make it stand out just like you do with a standard cable.
There is also a YouTube Video as a reference guide to show how the design works, the rows and stitch count around the the design may not be the same as yours. Search by “Silver Dollar Cable how to by Stitch Niche”
The Silver Dollar Cable can be added to a Sport Weight Pattern, Worsted Weight Pattern or Chunky Weight Pattern. It will use the same needle size as your design, so no change of needles are needed. The only addition to your work will be a Cable Stitch Holder
