The Silver Lining sock pattern features top-down construction with traveling cables adorning the sock leg. The cables and ribbing help to control the fabric shape created by this silk- and Seacell®-rich yarn. The leg pattern, which is charted, extends both into the short-row heel and the instep.

The leg chart is symmetric and repetitive in several instances, which should simplify the knitting process. In addition, traveling cables will easily expose any mistakes if you happen to stray off track. The “silver lining” of this pattern, if you will, is that after following the chart for the leg portion of the sock, the foot is exceptionally basic! You’ll be finished with the first sock in no time at all, and the second will fly off your needles!
